Another Froggy Evening
Release date: 1995-10-06 Plot:
The short follows Michigan J. Frog through various historical eras, from prehistoric times to a futuristic space age, showing how his presence either influences or completely ruins the life of whoever finds him. In every segment, someone discovers the frog and tries to exploit his singing talent for personal gain, only to end up in disaster when the frog stubbornly refuses to perform in front of an audience.
Name and role:
The story culminates with the arrival of Marvin the Martian, who interprets the frog's croaking as a cue to sing, leading to a one-of-a-kind duet in space featuring The Michigan Rag.
Trivia and other appearances:
This marks the first and only historic appearance of Marvin alongside the singing frog. However, Michigan J. Frog has had other duets in his quirky career, including with Giovanni Jones and with Tweety and Hector in the Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries episodes "One Froggy Throat" and "Froggone It."

WB Kids
Release date:
1995-11-01
Plot:
Warner Bros. Kids (Kids' WB) launched in 1995 as a Saturday morning programming block on The WB network, featuring hit animated shows like Animaniacs, Batman: The Animated Series, and later Pokémon. It became a major player in children's television through the late '90s and early 2000s. The block ended in 2008, replaced by The CW4Kids after network changes.
Name and role:
From 1995 to 2005, Michigan J. Frog served as the mascot of WB Kids, appearing between shows with musical numbers. Originally from One Froggy Evening (1955), he became the cheerful face of the network. Retired in 2005 with the WB's rebranding.
Trivia and other appearances:
Who would've thought that the symbol of a children's network would become a full-blown villain just a few years later, in the Teen Titans Go! special titled "Warner Bros. 100th Anniversary" (2023)?

Space Jam
Release date:
1996-11-10
Plot:
Basketball legend Michael Jordan teams up with Bugs Bunny and the Looney Tunes to win a wild basketball game against alien villains called the Monstars. The aliens stole NBA players' talents, so it's up to Jordan and the Tunes to slam, jam, and bring the chaos. It's sports meets cartoons in the most 90s crossover ever.
Name and role: Back then, it was complicated to animate all the well-known and lesser-known characters to create a big cheering crowd, so we mostly see what look like GIFs in the background: two-dimensional characters moving in a loop. Only in certain scenes, when the focus shifts to the audience, do we see real animations and well-crafted characters. Among them: Giovanni Jones and Michigan J. Frog
Trivia and other appearances:
In the scene, the two characters appear very close, I took the liberty of having Giovanni hold the frog just for the visual flair. However, the two actually did sing together in the Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries episode "Froggone It" (1997)

Looney Tunes: Back in Action

Daffy Duck, feeling overshadowed by Bugs Bunny, is fired from Warner Bros. and teams up with security guard DJ Drake. They embark on a globe-trotting adventure to rescue DJ's father and thwart the evil plans of the Acme Corporation's chairman, who seeks to use the Blue Monkey diamond to turn humans into monkeys.
Name and role:
Bugs Bunny is obviously one of the four main characters. In the restaurant, he briefly turns into Marilyn Monroe, which instantly triggers Michigan J. Frog to burst into song with "Hello My Baby" Quote:Listen, lady, if you don't find a rabbit wearing lipstick amusing, you and I have nothin' to say to each other.
